COPPICE FOALS 2010

These are the performance ponies of the future and will be hard to find as adults when you're ready to start ridden and driven showing.

Invest now in your future performance pony and you won't get left behind.

We had nearly a dozen foals last year - black, broken coloured, several chestnuts and one roan. For 2010 we covered only four mares - three with our grey stallion, Lolly (Abbots Ford Ice Cube), and one with Coppice Fanfare, our bay and white stallion.  They are big stallions and big mares and we've been delighted with the results.  Lolly's two colts and one filly are just what we wanted from his Southley breeding - chunky, long legs for the future and gorgeous heads.  Fanfare's one filly is almost identical to his previous filly with Joy, Coppice Josie Kate.  We are thrilled to bits with them all.

We try to update the foal photos every month, although it depends on the weather and how co-operative they decide to be when I manage to get out there with my camera!  Last year we were very pleased to play host to Bob and Pam Langrish, world-famous equestrian photographers, who spent a few happy hours at Coppice on a glorious August day taking candid shots of the foals as they got on with their daily lives.  By their kind permission several of their super photos appear on this website and one of the group shots is shown below.

Keep an eye on this page and, if you are looking for something specific, let us know and we'll keep you posted at foaling time.

We look forward to meeting you this year or next!

COPPICE FAITH

Abbots Ford Ice Cube (Southley bred)

ex Coppice Fortune
Chestnut roan/grey filly to make 40”+, born 19 May 2010

Tall, well boned filly, very friendly and stamped with Lolly's lovely head.  Super ridden prospect with long legs and good joints.  Born chestnut but definitely going grey.  Will be retained.

Pictured July 2010.

COPPICE MAVERICK

Abbotsford Ice Cube (Southley bred)

ex Riccalton Marigold
Chestnut roan/grey colt to make 39/40", born 20 May 2010

Very smart colt with Lolly's beautiful head and with a white star like last year's half brother Monty. Born chestnut but and we thought he was going grey but we think he may say roan like his mum. Masses of quality and one for the show ring we think.  Will probably be retained now.

COPPICE PETER

Abbots Ford Ice Cube (Southley bred)

ex Coppice Prudence
Chestnut colt to make 39/40”, born 1 June 2010

Lolly's third and final foal this year.  Another pretty head and long, chunky legs to make a good height.  Looks like he'll stay chestnut but it could be quite dark, even liver.
